Nancy Zapata-Jimenez

Nancy Jimenez-Zapata is a founding member of the parents’ committee in Reading. As an immigrant from the Dominican Republic and an advocate for her children’s education she knew she had to be a part of a grassroots organization within her community. Alongside her teenage daughter, also a youth leader with the organization, she has become an outstanding leader in her community. Nancy started working for the organization as a field manager in January 2020 that oversaw Reading’s field program. Once elections were over in 2020, MRPA knew it could not let Nancy go and decided to promote her to an organizer within the organization. She has become a redistricting organizer and supports our climate justice work alongside a lead organizer.
